Killers of the Flower Moon hits theatres

Martin Scorsese’s new epic hit theatres last Friday with much anticipation. The three-and-a-half-hour-long behemoth is set in the early 1900s and focuses on the real-life events surrounding the murders of Osage Native Americans in Osage County, Oklahoma after the land was found to be rich with oil. The film is an adaptation of David Grann’s critically acclaimed non-fiction book, released in 2017 and stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone and many other notable actors.

This is one of the year’s must-see films and will most likely rival Oppenheimer at this year’s Oscar’s. More on its box office performance below, stay tuned for our review.

A new James Bond is still a ways away, says series’ producer

Longtime 007 producer, Barbara Broccoli, sat down with the Guardian to discuss the next entry into the beloved film series. Unfortunately, she said that there is still “a big road ahead” as they try to modernize and reinvent the character of James Bond. So, sadly, it looks like we won’t be getting any clarity on who will be taking over the role anytime soon. This comes after recent rumours of Chris Nolan being in talks to direct the next films.

Bill Burr’s Old Dads out on Netflix

Bill Burr’s new comedy, starring himself, Bobby Cannavale, and Bokeem Woodbine as the titular Dads hit Netflix last Friday. Similar to Burr’s comedy specials, the film centers on old guys navigating political correctness and the world their kids are growing up in. If you’re looking for a lighthearted flick with some good laughs, all within the comfort of your own home, be sure to check this one out.

The Hollywood Reporter: “If you find Burr’s stand-up routines funny (and since he routinely sells out arenas, it’s obvious that plenty of people do), you’ll enjoy Old Dads…”

Final Destination 6 will reboot the horror film franchise

The movie series that forever made millennials terrified of driving behind logging trucks is making a return. After COVID and Writers Strike-related delays, Final Destination 6 is back in development at New Line Cinema, says production designer, Rachel O’Toole, who also mentioned it will be a reboot. The project is still in scripting but it sounds like it will follow a crew of first responders and tie in elements of the previous films.
